LUCIA PERFUMO
Lucia Perfumo is currently based in Miami, FL. She recently graduated with a BFA in Art with an emphasis in Art and Technology at the Ohio State University. She prefers to work digitally since there is so much potential for experimentation. Her work is inspired by memories of her childhood and her love of nature.
"As an explorer in the artistic world, my art style expresses an innate curiosity for all types of media experimentation. From traditional art to photography to web design to robotics, I love discovering ways to intertwine each new and exciting media with the skills I have under my belt. My goal is to find innovative ways to connect with people using art and design through collaboration and experimentation."
Artist Statement
Lucia focuses on the concepts of childhood memories, family and mental health. Memories have always been a fascinating concept since they are an abstract representation of events that are connected to the feelings we were experiencing. Through her art, she is able to work through those memories and portray how she was feeling in that moment. Although memories aren’t always comforting, they bring a form of nostalgia that makes you think about yourself, the current place you are in in your life, and how those memories have influenced you. Working digitally has given her the ability to experiment with the idea of constant change by easily manipulating the artwork.
